This image makes me laugh out loud. I would call this the Clutter Danger Zone.
I’m not talking about the hoarding kind of clutter; like the kind that can cause a health hazard.
I’m talking about the small little bumps and bruises kind of clutter.
3 kinds of Clutter that can be Hazardous to your Being
Falling Clutter: Recently, a girlfriend shared with me that she couldn’t take it anymore. A particular task had been lurking for a while, literally. She opened the door of a closet and out flies an object. It became the emergency danger zone purge. Hey, whatever motivates…right?!
Too Close for Comfort Clutter: Another story I heard recently was of a drawer so full that it took force to close it and wham…finger injury. Again, swift and blinding de-cluttering happened.
Trip and Fall Clutter: Piles on the floor impeding traffic zone which leads to a slip and fall injury. Bruises on the knee and ego!
Maybe, sometimes, we need a twinge of pain to move us forward in this journey.
Okay, so I’m not wishing for an injury to spur you into action. I am however hoping for something to get you and I unstuck.
Today, as I have sat in front of my computer in a frozen state, I started to think that facing the fear just isn’t worth it. It’s easier to stay in the comfort zone; the easy street. What is this strong force that keeps me paralyzed? It’s a steady battle in the oppressed mind. Oppression, a sense of being weighed down in body or mind.
So the formula for beating this oppressive mindset is to:
Be aware—acknowledge the mind is going down the dark path
Capture negative thought—stop it in its tracks
Replace with truth—oppression is from the enemy
Mind clutter is hazardous to your being too. It’s likely what has led to the 3 types of dangerous clutter listed above.
Are you ready to break free? Ready for action?
Let’s practice this out loud:
I am aware.
I am onto the enemy’s tricks.
I am capable of change.
I am a conqueror.
I can overcome.
The danger is believing the lies. The danger is conceding; throwing in the towel.
Tell me about the dangerous clutter in your life. Whether it be falling articles, finger breaking and toe stubbing physical clutter; or perhaps the threat of mind clutter lurks in the darkness.
Let’s do this together. Step away from the Danger Zone.
Into the light. One step at a time.
He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with him. Daniel 2:22
